Adrian Tiafierro Keys

Landscape Architect in Sarasota FL | Founder of Keys Ecological Design

About

Adrian Tiafierro Keys is an award-winning landscape architect based in Sarasota, Florida, known for his ability to merge environmental resilience with refined design. As Founder and Principal of Keys Ecological Design, he leads a boutique practice specializing in climate-adaptive landscapes that balance function, beauty, and sustainability. Born and raised on Florida’s Gulf Coast, Adrian’s connection to nature began early, inspired by Sarasota’s mangroves, waterways, and dunes. After earning his Bachelor of Landscape Architecture from the University of Florida and a Master of Environmental Design from Florida International University, he honed his expertise in coastal ecology and sustainable urban development. His firm’s portfolio spans high-impact civic, residential, and educational projects, including the Bayfront Park Redevelopment, Ringling College Arts Campus Courtyard, and Venice Urban Tree Canopy Plan. His designs emphasize native planting, hydrological balance, and low-impact luxury—a philosophy that has earned him recognition in Florida Design, Landscape Architecture Magazine, and Gulf Coast Living. A licensed Florida Landscape Architect (#LA0018327) and LEED Accredited Professional, Adrian also serves on the Florida ASLA Board of Directors and co-chairs its Sustainability and Resilience Committee. His leadership continues to shape the dialogue around design that not only complements Florida’s natural heritage but protects it for generations to come.
